I was homeschooled up until college, and I loved it! I feel so fortunate to have been able to bypass the inefficiencies of traditional school, and have enough free time to read, to learn, and pursue my interests. I want to do the same for my children: give them more than what they could ever get at school. More time to play, more time to cultivate a love of learning, more time to pursue their interests, more time to learn our family's values, and more time to get to know themselves. I could write way more on this subject, but I'll leave it to a blog post for the future! I hope this section can give a few starting points and resources to those who would like to learn more!
I found this substack post from The First-Gen SAHM to be a good intro to homeschooling! In the video, she explains certain misconceptions about homeschooling and traditional schooling in general. In the rest of her post, she gives a great list of pointers and books to read on the subject.
If you have a little bit more time to listen to a podcast on the subject, I found this podcast episode really fun to listen to. It's a conversation between two homeschooling moms, talking about their styles and rhythms of homeschool life.
