Hi, I'm Kathryn! I was born and raised in San Jose, CA, the heart of Silicon Valley. I was homeschooled through high school, and went to the University of California, Irvine, where I got my BS in Electrical Engineering. I worked for a few years at a semiconductor company as an applications engineer and traveled to Singapore, China, and all over the US for conferences, training, and project work. I helped design printed circuit boards, wrote code, lead projects, wrote papers, spoke at conferences, and really enjoyed working with (and learning from!) the wonderful people there.
With this being said-- it pales in comparison to my current more-than-full-time job: being a stay at home mom! For me it was always my life goal, to be able to stay home with my children and homeschool them. As I have met more and more moms, I have realized that this life-goal is really not that common!
I want to share the joy (and the peace) that comes with fully embracing this role, and help those who think it's either unnecessary, unfulfilling, or unattainable, realize the beauty and the importance of being at home with their children, despite the sacrifices that it involves.
I also created this website to share resources that are helping me and inspiring me to be the best-version-of-myself and the best-mom-that-I-can-be. I hope that through these examples and some resources, I can show others that being a stay-at-home mom is what you make of it! It can be fun and challenging, and a way to grow in ways you would never imagine. It could also be a world full of drudgery, annoyance, and boredom. The person in control is you! Why not choose to make it fun, and choose to enjoy your children for this short time that they're with you.
I try to curate the resources to give you "just enough" ideas for inspiration, and to not overwhelm. My goal in the future is to have my base content on this website, and then continue adding more specific content and articles via my Substack channel, which you can find here.
Obviously, I'm still in the early days so there's not much on there yet (and I haven't completely filled out the content on the site) but feel free to subscribe to my Substack to be notified of any future content! My #1 priority is raising and spending time my children, so content will appear as I have time for it. If you've gotten this far, thanks so much for reading!
